An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near the North Cornish coast

You’ll find some of north Cornwall’s best bathing and surfing beaches within easy reach of our Bude Club campsite. The campsite boasts a prime location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. Bude lies nine miles to the north, while south are Tintagel and Camelford.

After a day spent soaking up the sun on the beach our Bude campsite is the perfect place to sit back and relax and enjoy the fantastic views over rolling countryside. Bordered by hedges, the campsite has a separate field and you’ll find a recreation room in the facilities block and a small children’s play area opposite reception to keep younger campers entertained while on site.

There’s a pleasant walk to Crackington Haven over fields and stiles from site where you’ll find a sandy beach and an abundance of rock pools. The nearby fishing port of Boscastle is worth visiting. Learn about the legend of King Arthur in Tintagel, enjoy a cliff top walk to the castle ruins and Merlin’s Cave. Just south of Tintagel Trebarwith Strand is a popular surfing beach and dog-friendly. Port Isaac, made famous by TV’s Doc Martin and Boscastle, a delightful fishing port with white washed cottages, steep narrow streets and alleyways, should not be missed.

North of Bude campsite, Widemouth Bay and Blackrock Sands is fabulous for surfing and sunbathing.

There is something missing at this site. The staff are efficient but not welcoming or friendly.

This review is for Bude

There is something missing at this site. The staff are efficient but not welcoming or friendly. The club shop is only open for 2.5 hours during the day, if you leave before 9 or return after 5:30 you've missed it. The effluent treatment plant, which is in the middle of the site, is perfectly situated to use the prevailing westerly winds to stink the whole site out. I have stayed at many club sites with my family and have always had a nice time but we felt like impostors on this site. Children playing and family fun were most certainly not welcome or tolerated by some of the guests. The site is also very isolated. It is not in Bude, it is 8 miles away on a busy road with no pathways. There is nothing within walking distance of the site and the roads are too busy to cycle on with children. I will not be visiting this site again in a hurry. We actually left two nights early, something We have never done before on a holiday.

Couldn't disagree with the previous reviewer more. This is a lovely site.

Couldn't disagree with the previous reviewer more. This is a lovely site. Our second visit and we'll definitely come again. Fantastic if, like us, you have a teenager obsessed with surfing. Great beaches in the local area, Bude is fantastic. Friendly staff who would do anything for you. Relaxed atmosphere on site. We love it! The site was full for our visit this time and everyone we talked to seemed very happy too. We'll be back!

A lot of poetic licence has been used in the description of this site.

This review is for Bude

A lot of poetic licence has been used in the description of this site. The site is not near Bude or St Gennys or between Crackington Haven and Boscastle, it's 3 miles inland and nearest to Wainhouse Corner, right on Cornwall's Atlantic Highway. As such we found the road noise to be intrusive to say the least. The staff are extremely helpful and do an excellent job of keeping everything clean and tidy but they are fighting a loosing battle. This site desperately needs a revamp, especially the sewage system, it stinks, literally. My other gripe is the "dog walk", I'm afraid the word pathetic comes to mind. I can't really see what is achieved by erecting a length of post and rail fencing 4ft from a hedge.

Did not get the usual club warm welcome in fact the person who booked us in only just managed to give us the minimum of details about the site. There is no Motorhome Service area so as our pipes were too short could not dispose of grey water or fill fresh water tank. Ok for short stay but wouldn't rush back.
