An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near the North Cornish coast

You’ll find some of north Cornwall’s best bathing and surfing beaches within easy reach of our Bude Club campsite. The campsite boasts a prime location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. Bude lies nine miles to the north, while south are Tintagel and Camelford.

After a day spent soaking up the sun on the beach our Bude campsite is the perfect place to sit back and relax and enjoy the fantastic views over rolling countryside. Bordered by hedges, the campsite has a separate field and you’ll find a recreation room in the facilities block and a small children’s play area opposite reception to keep younger campers entertained while on site.

There’s a pleasant walk to Crackington Haven over fields and stiles from site where you’ll find a sandy beach and an abundance of rock pools. The nearby fishing port of Boscastle is worth visiting. Learn about the legend of King Arthur in Tintagel, enjoy a cliff top walk to the castle ruins and Merlin’s Cave. Just south of Tintagel Trebarwith Strand is a popular surfing beach and dog-friendly. Port Isaac, made famous by TV’s Doc Martin and Boscastle, a delightful fishing port with white washed cottages, steep narrow streets and alleyways, should not be missed.

North of Bude campsite, Widemouth Bay and Blackrock Sands is fabulous for surfing and sunbathing.

Nothing really around the site without a drive, There is a good beach about an 13 minute drive away and was always busy but still plenty of Parking available, site could do with a little update but at least you don't have to constantly press the showers on and off!! There is a small games rooms for the older children and swings and a slide for the younger children. We found the site to be nice but a little secluded for us as we had a long drive out if we wanted to go anywhere. We visited the big sheep attraction with our 5 year old and she really enjoyed it, there is also a small family run cinema 7 minutes away from the site which shows all the top films and is cheaper than the larger cinemas. Staff are all very pleasant and had a great time in Cornwall :) Would recommend to older couples and maybe people looking at surfing or enjoying walking

Wardens very welcoming and despite the wet weather the facilities, whilst slightly dated, were really clean (even cleaned after 9pm - dedicated team!). The site is easy to get to and provided a great base to get out and about. Found a great pub in Crackington Haven just a short drive from the site (Coombe Barton Inn), perfect location in a small cove with really good food at reasonable prices - well worth a visit

A lovely isolated site, named as Bude but the town is about 8 miles away. The A49 main road far too busy and narrow in places for cyclists, we had to get off and push our bikes up the hills and were relieved to return to the site alive! We had ventured into Bude along the beautiful coastal route but found it impossible to cycle as the gradient is 30% in places, too steep to even cycle down! The next day we walked down the pretty lanes into Crackington Haven, a delightful seaside village. We had a good lunch in the local Coombe Barton Inn and then ventured home along the lanes a different way. This involved a couple of footpaths as on my OS map. Firstly they are not signposted so we struggled to find them, the last path we needed would have saved us having to walk along the aforementioned main road, in fact we found the footpath and could actually see the campsite and our van so very nearly home until we noticed the livestock, an aggressive looking extremely well built bull plus his ladies. As he was staring at us and pawing the ground we chickened out so retraced our footsteps. A mile later we were yet again on the busy road. Not a pleasant experience, plus it took us over 3 hours to walk 3 1/2 miles, we certainly slept well that night! So to sum up, a lovely site but very isolated so can only get to and from in your vehicle, not suitable for walking and certainly not for cycling which was the main reason we chose the site for our holiday.

We have just spent 7 nights at this site and loved it; it was clean, tidy, the site hosts were friendly and welcoming. During the day there was some noise from the road, but an night it was quiet, apart from the cows in the next field, but it's a rural location, so what do you expect?! There isn't anywhere that you can realistically, and safely, walk to, but we didn't find that a problem. Port Isaac, Rock and Padstow are all within an easy drive and The Eden Project and The lost Gardens of Heligan aren't that far away either. The Old Wainhouse Inn does excellent food and has a friendly welcome. All in all a very enjoyable week
