An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near the North Cornish coast

You’ll find some of north Cornwall’s best bathing and surfing beaches within easy reach of our Bude Club campsite. The campsite boasts a prime location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. Bude lies nine miles to the north, while south are Tintagel and Camelford.

After a day spent soaking up the sun on the beach our Bude campsite is the perfect place to sit back and relax and enjoy the fantastic views over rolling countryside. Bordered by hedges, the campsite has a separate field and you’ll find a recreation room in the facilities block and a small children’s play area opposite reception to keep younger campers entertained while on site.

There’s a pleasant walk to Crackington Haven over fields and stiles from site where you’ll find a sandy beach and an abundance of rock pools. The nearby fishing port of Boscastle is worth visiting. Learn about the legend of King Arthur in Tintagel, enjoy a cliff top walk to the castle ruins and Merlin’s Cave. Just south of Tintagel Trebarwith Strand is a popular surfing beach and dog-friendly. Port Isaac, made famous by TV’s Doc Martin and Boscastle, a delightful fishing port with white washed cottages, steep narrow streets and alleyways, should not be missed.

North of Bude campsite, Widemouth Bay and Blackrock Sands is fabulous for surfing and sunbathing.

This review is for Bude

Bude is a small site with easy access from the A39. A warm welcome from Geoff, Lynn, Alan and Sue made my stay a very pleasant one. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. The facilities, whilst not the most up to date I have used are non the less spotlessly clean and perfectly functional. The site has great views over the countryside and particularly Crackington Haven and is perfectly placed for exploring the North Cornwall and North Devon coast from Padstow to Clovelly with ease. The site is about 8 miles West of Bude and I drove into Bude in 20 minutes without undue haste. The site is close to the hamlet of Wainhouse Corner which has a garage, Post Office and small village shop. It also has a lovely old Inn. The "Old Wainhouse Inn" which serves good food and beer. Tintagel and Boscastle are also both close by and take only a short time to get to by car. I used the site as a base whilst I walked the South West Coast Path from Padstow to Westward Ho! Various bus services along this stretch of coast make walking the coast a pleasant day out. There are probably many more things to do and see in the area and indeed a well stocked shelf of such attractions in the amenities room on site does help you choose what to do on your day trips out. I will definately re-visit the Bude site in the future if only to chill out and not walk so far the next time I am there. I had a thoroughly excellent holiday. My thanks to those mentioned above for making it such a pleasant stay. See you again one day. Steve.

The wardens gave me very warm welcome even though I turned up rather late unexpectedly and only wanted to stay one night. The site has a definite rural feel to it and I was conscious that I was near the coast (on a clear day you can see the sea). The site has all the facilities to the Club's usual high standards; it is rather a large site and I would imagine you would be unlucky if you stayed at such a peak time that you felt crowded. I was specially gratified to find that the drinking water supply had a hose attached to it (why do so many sites omit this?!). The field is very flat and in spite of recent heavy rain, I had no difficulty manouvering over the site. The attractions of the north coast of Cornwall and Devon are nearby, this is a great base for trips to Tintagel or Clovelly.
