    Top site for beaches

  • A popular site for families

    Great site for families

Enjoy wonderful Northern Irish hospitality in this beautifully situated campsite in County Down.

Mountains, coast and countryside are all accessible from our beautiful Club campsite at Delamont Country Park, in Northern Ireland.

Our campsite sits adjacent to the stunning Delamont Country Park in a peaceful, rural location. Bordered in part by trees Delamont is a level site offering Club Service Pitches, some now benefiting from the addition of hard standings. There is also a modern washblock and a small site shop.

The country park is ideal for stretching the legs. Walk up the hill to the Strangford Stone and you’ll be rewarded with fantastic views over Strangford Lough to the Mourne Mountains. In addition to the fantastic walking, the park is perfect for family picnics, barbecues and games with specially designated areas. You’ll also find Ireland’s only fresh-air gym, an outdoor adventure playground, miniature railway and heronry. The Lough itself is a birdwatchers paradise – see Brent Geese, Knot and Terns – and enjoy a lough-side walk.

Killyleagh just over a mile from the campsite is a pretty town with its own ‘fairytale’ castle and a selection of shops and restaurants. Belfast is also accessible from the campsite and, for a quieter day out, head to the beautiful Mourne Mountains in the south east or head to the Giant’s Causeway on the north coast in County Antrim.

Please note: There are no grass-only pitches at this campsite so an additional pitch fee applies. However, there is a small tent area with standard pitches, which can be booked by contacting the site.

Worth Noting

There is very limited car parking space for second cars or visitors - more parking is available in Delamont Country Park. Please be aware that some of the Hardstanding pitches on this site comprise of a grass covered reinforced plastic hardstanding.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Site is easy to get to and is right within the Delamont Country Park which means there's no play area for children. The Site Wardens, Betty and Hugh, who have just retired were fantastic and nurtured mum and I as novice first time caravanners. They were always really helpful but without being overbearing or intrusive. They applied a lot of common sense which is great and got on well with adults and children. The site was always immaculate with lovely floral baskets and plants around the reception area. There are lovely walks of various distances within the Country Park and lovely pub/restaurants a short drive away. The site is now mainly fully serviced hard standing pitches with is brilliant, pitches are spacious and private with easy access. TV and Wifi reception are good. If I had one encouraging comment to the Club it would be to refurbish the showers and toilets into a wet room which would be much easier for the Site/Assistant Wardens and campers to keep clean. That said Betty, Hugh and the various Assistant Wardens have done an excellent job to keep facilities very clean but it's hard work keeping the tiled floor/shower cubicles spick and span. All in all this is my favourite site and we will miss Betty and Hugh but wish them well in their new adventures.

Set within a huge parkland area, walking and cycling routes for greater or lesser distances. Handily placed for local town/harbour/fairy tale privately owned castle/shops and within ten miles of the splendid N.T. Rowallain Gardens in one direction and Downpatrick in the other. ( look up the history of the place ). Another N.T. property, Castle Ward. There's Strangford Lough with its many facilities - our neighbouring caravavanners took out their canoes every morning - and the nearby Mourne Mountains provide their own interests, take the scenic route past HUGE boulders forming miles of drystone walling. AND the best F&C shop in N.Ireland for 2011/2012/2013 in Kilkeel, as is the most distressing and depressing sight, a memorial to those who died in defence of the rule of law.
