    Top site for beaches

  • A popular site for families

    Great site for families

Enjoy wonderful Northern Irish hospitality in this beautifully situated campsite in County Down.

Mountains, coast and countryside are all accessible from our beautiful Club campsite at Delamont Country Park, in Northern Ireland.

Our campsite sits adjacent to the stunning Delamont Country Park in a peaceful, rural location. Bordered in part by trees Delamont is a level site offering Club Service Pitches, some now benefiting from the addition of hard standings. There is also a modern washblock and a small site shop.

The country park is ideal for stretching the legs. Walk up the hill to the Strangford Stone and you’ll be rewarded with fantastic views over Strangford Lough to the Mourne Mountains. In addition to the fantastic walking, the park is perfect for family picnics, barbecues and games with specially designated areas. You’ll also find Ireland’s only fresh-air gym, an outdoor adventure playground, miniature railway and heronry. The Lough itself is a birdwatchers paradise – see Brent Geese, Knot and Terns – and enjoy a lough-side walk.

Killyleagh just over a mile from the campsite is a pretty town with its own ‘fairytale’ castle and a selection of shops and restaurants. Belfast is also accessible from the campsite and, for a quieter day out, head to the beautiful Mourne Mountains in the south east or head to the Giant’s Causeway on the north coast in County Antrim.

Please note: There are no grass-only pitches at this campsite so an additional pitch fee applies. However, there is a small tent area with standard pitches, which can be booked by contacting the site.

Worth Noting

There is very limited car parking space for second cars or visitors - more parking is available in Delamont Country Park. Please be aware that some of the Hardstanding pitches on this site comprise of a grass covered reinforced plastic hardstanding.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Pheasants' Hill Farm Shop in Downpatrick sells its own locally-reared produce including free range pork, chicken and eggs.

We had informed the site managers that we would arrive on site at 7.30pm after arriving by Ferry into Belfast. They were waiting for us on arrival and were so friendly and helpful. We had a tour booked for the next day and they gave us a map of Belfast and told us the best place to park. The site was clean and very well maintained. The pitches on site are fully serviced and mainly flat. The park adjacent to the site is great for a walk and is on the coast, has a children's play area and a miniature train ride. We used the site as a base for travelling into Belfast each day and would recommend it to other campers/caravanners.

There was a computer problem with our reservation but this was handled smoothly and professionally by the wardens on our arrival. More wardens like this please. I would also like the Club to review their 'no one night' policy. Many motorhomers are en route and can only stay one night. This rule drives us to the caravan club and away from the CCC.

The site is well situated for visit a number of tourist attractions within a short distance, close to Belfast and still within striking distance of the Queen's recent visit to the Giant's Causeway and Bushmills home of the oldest whiskey maker in the United Kingdom and Ireland. A warm welcome awaits anyone visiting Delamont Country Park Camping and Caravan Club site.
