    Top site for beaches

  • A popular site for families

    Great site for families

Enjoy wonderful Northern Irish hospitality in this beautifully situated campsite in County Down.

Mountains, coast and countryside are all accessible from our beautiful Club campsite at Delamont Country Park, in Northern Ireland.

Our campsite sits adjacent to the stunning Delamont Country Park in a peaceful, rural location. Bordered in part by trees Delamont is a level site offering Club Service Pitches, some now benefiting from the addition of hard standings. There is also a modern washblock and a small site shop.

The country park is ideal for stretching the legs. Walk up the hill to the Strangford Stone and you’ll be rewarded with fantastic views over Strangford Lough to the Mourne Mountains. In addition to the fantastic walking, the park is perfect for family picnics, barbecues and games with specially designated areas. You’ll also find Ireland’s only fresh-air gym, an outdoor adventure playground, miniature railway and heronry. The Lough itself is a birdwatchers paradise – see Brent Geese, Knot and Terns – and enjoy a lough-side walk.

Killyleagh just over a mile from the campsite is a pretty town with its own ‘fairytale’ castle and a selection of shops and restaurants. Belfast is also accessible from the campsite and, for a quieter day out, head to the beautiful Mourne Mountains in the south east or head to the Giant’s Causeway on the north coast in County Antrim.

Please note: There are no grass-only pitches at this campsite so an additional pitch fee applies. However, there is a small tent area with standard pitches, which can be booked by contacting the site.

Worth Noting

There is very limited car parking space for second cars or visitors - more parking is available in Delamont Country Park. Please be aware that some of the Hardstanding pitches on this site comprise of a grass covered reinforced plastic hardstanding.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Pheasants' Hill Farm Shop in Downpatrick sells its own locally-reared produce including free range pork, chicken and eggs.

We were supposed to stay in the Republic of Ireland but horrendous weather resulted in us diverting to Delamont. Betty, Hugh, David and Lynn rescued us by being able to accommodate us as we drove from Cork. We have had such a lovely relaxing week on the lovely Delamont site .. A site which is a real credit to the Camping and Caravan Club and especially to the hard work by Betty, Hugh, David and Lynn keeping it ship shape. Thanks to the Club for investing in wifi and also for adding a lot more hard standing fully serviced pitches. This site is beautiful and kept really clean and well maintained. The only suggestion I would make is for parents bringing children here .. There are no play areas on site but there's a huge playground with climbing frames and slides just a few mins walk from the site also a miniature steam train and lots of forrest walks in the nearby Delamont Country Park and I'd encourage parents to take their children and spend time there. Great site, great wardens and assistants will definitely be back!

The site is near Strangford, and Castle Ward, it is at the entrance to Delamont Country Park, which has amenities for all. If you want to stay around Belfast, I can not think of a better place to be. Cycle path to the local small town. Short drive to the large town which has many large supermarkets. Perfect

The only downfall was our neighbour who kept a constant check on the no of cars. One was ours and the other our daughters And we parked both at the side of one van so we could have grassy patch between us. I sometimes wondered was she employed by c and c!!!!! This won't deter us from going back. The area and scenery are spectacular and walks beautiful .
