    Great site for families

Enjoy wonderful Northern Irish hospitality in this beautifully situated campsite in County Down.

Mountains, coast and countryside are all accessible from our beautiful Club campsite at Delamont Country Park, in Northern Ireland.

Our campsite sits adjacent to the stunning Delamont Country Park in a peaceful, rural location. Bordered in part by trees Delamont is a level site offering Club Service Pitches, some now benefiting from the addition of hard standings. There is also a modern washblock and a small site shop.

The country park is ideal for stretching the legs. Walk up the hill to the Strangford Stone and you’ll be rewarded with fantastic views over Strangford Lough to the Mourne Mountains. In addition to the fantastic walking, the park is perfect for family picnics, barbecues and games with specially designated areas. You’ll also find Ireland’s only fresh-air gym, an outdoor adventure playground, miniature railway and heronry. The Lough itself is a birdwatchers paradise – see Brent Geese, Knot and Terns – and enjoy a lough-side walk.

Killyleagh just over a mile from the campsite is a pretty town with its own ‘fairytale’ castle and a selection of shops and restaurants. Belfast is also accessible from the campsite and, for a quieter day out, head to the beautiful Mourne Mountains in the south east or head to the Giant’s Causeway on the north coast in County Antrim.

Please note: There are no grass-only pitches at this campsite so an additional pitch fee applies. However, there is a small tent area with standard pitches, which can be booked by contacting the site.

Worth Noting

There is very limited car parking space for second cars or visitors - more parking is available in Delamont Country Park. Please be aware that some of the Hardstanding pitches on this site comprise of a grass covered reinforced plastic hardstanding.

A very nice well kept site. Easy to find and enter. All wardens were friendly and helpful. Due to my disability we asked to be close to the facilities, we were given a choice of a few pitches to choose from, and were also given a key to the disabled facilities which was well equipped and clean. Due to it being in a county park there are plenty of walks off the site and those like me who has a mobility scooter can get round very easily. There are some beautiful views from some of the walks. Ideal for seeing places and sites around the area. One comment is for the management that supply the equipment for the site, they need to replace the washing machine and dryer for a more up to date and larger capacity machines. To put a week’s washing in for two it has to go in as two or three loads and at £3.50 a load and a £1 for drying, it works out very expensive. Could also do with some laundry baskets. I would say it is an ideal site to stop at while the children are in school but could be a very noisy site when the families arrive.

We found Northern Ireland a great place to visit . People were welcoming and friendly throughout. Attractions are world class ( Giants Causeway, Carrick a Rede Rope bridge, Titantic Exhibition etc backed up by superb coast and gardens . (Rowallane close to Delamont was our favourite) If you haven't visited Northern Ireland before go for it, you will not regret it!

We were very disappointed by the about of dog mess left on the grass areas particularly the camping area which was used as a play area for kids. We had to collect and dispose of mess and we didn't have a dog. It was also frustrating the amount of owners who would let their dog off the led and some of them even exercised their dogs on site near the camping area even throwing tennis balls over pitches.
