Enjoy walking, cycling, Go Ape and concerts from our forest-based site nr Chester.

Cheshire’s largest area of woodland surrounds our Delamere Forest Club campsite. Located in the west of the county near Chester, Delamere Forest covers some 950 hectares providing outdoor lovers with boundless walking and cycling opportunities on its network of paths and trails direct from the campsite. There’s a Go Ape! course too – with zip wires and Tarzan swings - for those with a head for heights.

The mixed deciduous and evergreen trees of the forest surround the campsite. These green surroundings complement the campsite’s many environmentally-friendly features. The excellent on site facilities include a parent and child shower room, laundry and washing area in addition to showers and toilets. The site shop stocks the essentials, further afield RM Wilding and The Hollies farm shops supply a wider range of produce.

In nearby Delamere, Abbeywood Gardens incorporates a two kilometre wildlife walk, while Stonyford Cottage Gardens at Northwich has a woodland walk. Enjoy a boat trip along the River Weaver at the Anderton Boat Lift also near Northwich. The campsite is also handy for Oulton Park motor racing circuit near Tarporley.

To venture further afield, you can catch a train at Delamere station a short walk from the campsite where regular services operate to Manchester and Chester.

Lovely clean and well maintained site.

This review is for Delamere Forest

Lovely clean and well maintained site. There isnt a specific dog walking arinton site butas there is gate access off the camp into the forest this is not a problem. Got close enough in the forest to take a fab photo of a hare which amazed us as its rare to even see them in our experience. The only slight downside of the site is its proximity to the road and rail track. This means its wasnt as relaxing as we would have liked due to the traffic noise. Would visit again though .

The site was really handy as we were visiting family in Belfast which was only 40 mins drive. Hardly also for visiting Newcastle and Down Patrick. If we came again to Ireland with the Caravan we would not hesitate to stay on that site again

On arrival I was greeted with a smile, quickly checked in and shown to my pitch, I had a large grass pitch at the back of the site with electric hook up, all the team seemed friendly and welcoming and maintained the site to a good standard The location is set right on the edge of Delamere forest with all its attractions, the site is in the forest with Delamere railway station right next to it on one side of the site and a busyish road along another side, I didn't notice any noise from the trains, but found the road quite noisy at times. Ideally located for visiting Chester, Widnes, Manchester and Liverpool. The facility's were kept nice and clean, toilets, showers, laundry room and dish washing area. My only gripe would be the showers had a delay before coming on fully and then only stayed on for about 10 seconds which I feel wasn't long enough although the water was lovely and hot. I would recommend this site and hope to return again soon

This site has the potential to be really great.

This review is for Delamere Forest

This site has the potential to be really great. Unfortunately we were greeted very rudely, to the point that if I had not had commitments I would have left. So much for the friendly club! That said we had a great break, the railway was not imposing and is only 15 mins to Chester. Great walking in the forest direct from site and smashing dog friendly pub down the road. The site was full and the facilities were overwhelmed. You also need to be friendly with your neighbours as they will be close. I would visit again as the location is superb and will bite my tongue for the hostile welcome.
