Enjoy walking, cycling, Go Ape and concerts from our forest-based site nr Chester.

Cheshire’s largest area of woodland surrounds our Delamere Forest Club campsite. Located in the west of the county near Chester, Delamere Forest covers some 950 hectares providing outdoor lovers with boundless walking and cycling opportunities on its network of paths and trails direct from the campsite. There’s a Go Ape! course too – with zip wires and Tarzan swings - for those with a head for heights.

The mixed deciduous and evergreen trees of the forest surround the campsite. These green surroundings complement the campsite’s many environmentally-friendly features. The excellent on site facilities include a parent and child shower room, laundry and washing area in addition to showers and toilets. The site shop stocks the essentials, further afield RM Wilding and The Hollies farm shops supply a wider range of produce.

In nearby Delamere, Abbeywood Gardens incorporates a two kilometre wildlife walk, while Stonyford Cottage Gardens at Northwich has a woodland walk. Enjoy a boat trip along the River Weaver at the Anderton Boat Lift also near Northwich. The campsite is also handy for Oulton Park motor racing circuit near Tarporley.

To venture further afield, you can catch a train at Delamere station a short walk from the campsite where regular services operate to Manchester and Chester.

A three night pre-christmas break and our third visit.

This review is for Delamere Forest

A three night pre-christmas break and our third visit. The site is great for dog walking and the train to Chester. A bit disappointed there were no lightweight 6kg propane Calor especially at this time of year. I took the time to email C&CC about the dangerous lack of footpath from the site to the adjacent railway station and my ideas on a gateway from the site to the railway car park. As yet the club haven't replied but I am sure this would prevent an accident waiting to happen on the unlit 60mph road outside the club.

We used the train to visit Northwich, lovely walk along the canal there, the salt museum is worth a visit. Sandstone trail goes through the forest adjacent to the site.

I have stayed on the site a number of times and have never failed to experience a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable stay. We arrived on New Years Eve to a wonderfully warm welcome and were shown to our pitch within minutes of arrival. The friendliness of the site managers and assistants has been a feature of this site for as long as we have been visiting and plays a big part in making any stay that bit more pleasurable. There is an abundance of forest walking for all abilities within minutes of your unit, and only a handful of miles away the towns of Frodsham and Tarporley are more than worth a visit .... nice shops, pubs and eateries within quintessential English towns . In short .... make sure you schedule a visit to Delamere in 2017!

Stayed here for New Year with friends. Beautiful place to stay and explore the forest. Lovely cooked breakfast at the Station cafe. Only disappointment was that although the site was full we seemed the only people celebrating the New a Year. The site was deadly quiet come midnight (apart from the sound of fireworks from nearby displays!!). Wardens had a lovely mulled wine and mince pie early evening though. Come on folks let's celebrate a New Year!!
