Enjoy walking, cycling, Go Ape and concerts from our forest-based site nr Chester.

Cheshire’s largest area of woodland surrounds our Delamere Forest Club campsite. Located in the west of the county near Chester, Delamere Forest covers some 950 hectares providing outdoor lovers with boundless walking and cycling opportunities on its network of paths and trails direct from the campsite. There’s a Go Ape! course too – with zip wires and Tarzan swings - for those with a head for heights.

The mixed deciduous and evergreen trees of the forest surround the campsite. These green surroundings complement the campsite’s many environmentally-friendly features. The excellent on site facilities include a parent and child shower room, laundry and washing area in addition to showers and toilets. The site shop stocks the essentials, further afield RM Wilding and The Hollies farm shops supply a wider range of produce.

In nearby Delamere, Abbeywood Gardens incorporates a two kilometre wildlife walk, while Stonyford Cottage Gardens at Northwich has a woodland walk. Enjoy a boat trip along the River Weaver at the Anderton Boat Lift also near Northwich. The campsite is also handy for Oulton Park motor racing circuit near Tarporley.

To venture further afield, you can catch a train at Delamere station a short walk from the campsite where regular services operate to Manchester and Chester.

Great site in a beautiful part of the country. Friendly staff and good clean facilities.

Great site in a beautiful part of the country. Friendly staff and good clean facilities. Great for dog owners with the forest, and its many trails, literally on the doorstep of the site. For those travelling further afield it is approx 11 miles from Chester (25 mins by car). Tarporley and Nantwich also nice places to visit. Several very nice pubs a short car drive away. We will be back!

Arrived mid afternoon and the very friendly staff promptly directed us to the allocated pitch. However with hindsight, would have selected a pitch deeper into the site, given we were at the exit point and had to cope with the inconsiderate campers who thought it fun to empty their bottles into the bottle skip from a great height to see how much noise they could make etc. I would also agree with other reviews, the roads when dry are very dusty and in need of repair. That said Delamere is a lovely site and provides instant access to the forest and surrounding areas and I defy anybody to walk each and every path. Would we go back, yes definitely but look for a pitch deeper into the site.

I stayed at Delamere forest site for 3 nights with my two boys age's 8 and 10 It is a brilliant site as a base for outdoor activities, like mountain biking and the go ape centre just next door.(17 each for an hour) but worth it. Yes there are a few minor problems like the code for the toilets is a pain especially for the smaller one's my 8 year old couldn't reach the code pad. some of the toilet seats do need replacing but don't let this put you off they are still clean. what is lacking from this site is a play area and a park as there are none, not even an area to kick a ball about, so come camping club get your hands in your pockets a build a park for the little ones. I'm sure that this would then make it a 5 star site. Over all the location makes this site so if you like walking, biking and swinging from trees then its for you, if not you can always visit Chester which is also very nice.

On arrival we were told where to pitch but told straight away we could not use our footprint...having paid 1000 for our tent I feel this would have been better advertised before booking, luckily for us it did not rain and it had been dry before! Again as pervious people have stated road noise is very loud and very bust, trains 20 yards away and in a flight path......facilities were ok, and great for walks into the Forrest but not a place for kids to have fun, no ball games, no kites no fun! Shan't be back.
