Enjoy walking, cycling, Go Ape and concerts from our forest-based site nr Chester.

Cheshire’s largest area of woodland surrounds our Delamere Forest Club campsite. Located in the west of the county near Chester, Delamere Forest covers some 950 hectares providing outdoor lovers with boundless walking and cycling opportunities on its network of paths and trails direct from the campsite. There’s a Go Ape! course too – with zip wires and Tarzan swings - for those with a head for heights.

The mixed deciduous and evergreen trees of the forest surround the campsite. These green surroundings complement the campsite’s many environmentally-friendly features. The excellent on site facilities include a parent and child shower room, laundry and washing area in addition to showers and toilets. The site shop stocks the essentials, further afield RM Wilding and The Hollies farm shops supply a wider range of produce.

In nearby Delamere, Abbeywood Gardens incorporates a two kilometre wildlife walk, while Stonyford Cottage Gardens at Northwich has a woodland walk. Enjoy a boat trip along the River Weaver at the Anderton Boat Lift also near Northwich. The campsite is also handy for Oulton Park motor racing circuit near Tarporley.

To venture further afield, you can catch a train at Delamere station a short walk from the campsite where regular services operate to Manchester and Chester.

This review is for Delamere Forest

After reading comments on other media websites I was a little apprehensive, this is our first time on this site, but from arriving to leaving, I have only positive comments. The staff were very friendly and helpful in showing us to a pitch of our choice on the advice for a TV signal, although once on site we had no need of their services again. Access to the site was very easy, and the pitches are of a good size. The site is kept very tidy, difficult when was soon as you remove the leaves, there's another batch right behind. Althought the site is next to the train station and trains very regular I cannot say that it caused any concern as the trains were quiet diesels, and were slowing down for the station, so not a problem. Perfect location for trains into Chester for the xmas market, brilliant day out. Would I go again, yes cannot wait, what a gem of a site and thanks to the staff for making it so. Not sure about any play area for children, but when you have a forest like this on your dootstep, much better to take them exploring anyway.

We had a lovely 5 day stay here. Didnt have to venture far to give our grandchildren aged 7,5,+2 a active and enjoyable holiday. And better still spent almost nothing in doing this.
