This site has not altered since our last visit in 2008 and has won best CS since then.

This site has not altered since our last visit in 2008 and has won best CS since then. Both best CS awards are worthy of this lovely little site. The grass pitches are well kept and the pitches are well spaced. The ehu points are spaced between pitches. The busy owner has a recycling policy and the bins are well marked and are placed opposite the pitches with the water point and cdp. There is also a bin with leaflets for use by site visitors. It is hedged all around and the locked height barrier is a thoughtful security measure. With a bridal path just outside the site it provides a useful walk for dogs and only two minutes walk in the opposite direction is the Hayhurst Arms. This was a village social club last time we were here so the pub and restaurant were a welcome addition. The food was excellent and they had a good choice of real ales. The web site for the pub has a lot of useful information and provides a history of the village including a circular walk.

Neatly presented site, well looked after by owners who were friendly and welcoming. This is a perfect little getaway, convenient for M6 and the North whether travelling through or staying for longer. Pub within few minutes walking distance, great menu and very well kept cask ales. Nice walks and convenient for local attractions. Alison was on hand when we arrived very friendly and offered advice on local area and how to get a good table at the pub, welcome pack provided with details of places to visit. There is some road noise as an arterial route runs about third of a mile away, also on the flight path for Manchester Airport but we are plane buffs so watching the Airbus A380 overhead was great. Soon got used to the planes and the road and settled down for a very relaxing 5 days listening to birds singing.Worthy of note this field is a real sun trap (when its out). All in all great little CS with plenty of space between pitches, we will be going back for another visit.Well worth a visit.

Lawned field with part hard drive into site, grass only pitches security barrier an excellent feature. We last came here 3 years ago and it's just the same except for a new gastro pub just 5 min walk away, not cheap but good food. Again a warm welcome from owners Alison & Adrian. Except for the weekend when a small camper van came on site we were on our own. We had our two grandsons with us for 3 nights and the weather was georgous so we were able to keep them entertained as there is not a huge amount of reasonably priced activities for children in the area. It is a good area for walking, and Northwich a historic town is well worth exploring. A good plus is the security barrier, gives peace of mind when you are off site. Pitches are all grass and perhaps the introduction of a few hard stands may be a benefit as we could see that someone earlier in the season had had some difficulty with the ground conditions, non the less an excellent well kept CS and we will return.
