Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

Ideally situated on the Shropshire, Cheshire and Welsh borders this exceptional new site is nestled in miles of quiet countryside within a couple of miles of the picturesque Cheshire village of Malpas and the unspoilt Welsh village of Hanmer. We are perfectly placed for walkers wishing to explore the surrounding footpaths, lanes, Shropshire meres, Cheshire Sandstone trail and the Shropshire Union canal. For lovers of relaxation and peace and quiet come and take in the breath taking views of the Cheshire countryside and the Welsh hills. Cheshire has a multitude of fantastic days out to enjoy under half an hours drive away including the City of Chester with its spectacular cathedral, Roman history and architecture, Chester Zoo, the Cheshire Ice Cream Farm, Candle Workshops, Carden Spa, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and more. We are just minutes from the market town of Whitchurch and around 45 minutes from historic Shrewsbury

I sometimes worry that by putting a positive review it will just encourage others to go and may mean there won't be any vacancies !! But it's worth the risk as this is a little gem of a site and well worth 5* rating. Just had 4 days/3 nights here and what a lovely site.....we are two adults, 12 year old daughter and a dog. Arrived mid afternoon to be greeted by Julie (the owner) who let us pick our pitch. All grass (no hard-standing) but this was fine. Site is level with easy access. We have a 22 ft Challenger caravan and got there (and on site) no problem at all. A few narrow lanes but this site is in the country so this is to be expected. Views are good and apart from the birds and the odd tractor now and again, site is very quiet (in the day) and silent at night. Facilities were spotless and checked at least twice a day by Julie or David. There is a covered wash-up sink next to the immaculate single shower/toilet block. Both with constant FREE hot water!! There are re-cycling bins. The owners have set out a small rockery with plants next to the facilities which is a nice touch. There is a large field adjacent to the site which we were encouraged to use to allow our dog to run round in (which he loved). Dave and Julie would often sit (morning/late afternoon) with a brew and if you wanted to, have a friendly chat. During our stay we visited Erdig and Chirk Castle (both National Trust) along with the Ice Cream Farm. All of which are within an easy drive. The site is about 5-7 mins drive from Malpas which has all the usual shops, chemist, Post Office, chippy and pub you expect from a village. We will definitely be visiting this site again.... as long as it's not full.
