A wonderfully secluded campsite hidden in the Welsh hills.

Rhandirmwyn (pronounced ran-dee-mo-n) Club campsite lies just outside the Brecon Beacons National Park. The name means ‘Valley of the minerals’ and is a lead mining area in the Towy Valley.

The campsite is situated in the middle of the valley and the lively River Towy run alongside it. The campsite is spacious and well set out with excellent facilities. Surrounded by hills and trees it’s ideal for families or individuals interested in walking, cycling or just relaxing.

There are many beautiful hill and river walks within easy reach of this campsite. The Cambrian Way passes through the edge of the site. The circular all-ability access trail in Cwmrhaeadr Forest, one-and-a-half miles from the campsite is perfect for cyclists. There are two nice pubs in the village, your reward for completing the steep climb up to them!

Head south from the campsite to the Usk reservoir in the National Park. An eight-mile trail wends its way around the shore. Fishing is available here too. The nearby Glasfyndd Forest also has great walking and cycling tracks.

Llyn Brianne reservoir is also worth a visit. The road around the reservoir has some breathtaking views. Also visit the subterreanean world of the National Showcaves Centre for Wales. As well as the caves you can visit the dinosaur park, shire horse centre and the Iron Age village. The 13th century hillside Carreg Cenne Castle is south of the campsite near the village of Trapp.

Don’t miss a visit to the RSPB Dinas Nature Reserve where you can spot red kites. You can see more red kites as well as ravens and buzzards at Gigrin Farm Bird reserve in the market town of Rhayader.

Well just returned from a bank holiday weekend after spending a cracking weekend on site.

Well just returned from a bank holiday weekend after spending a cracking weekend on site. The area is outstanding, Riverside walk which is beautiful. Staff are out of this world. They work exceptionally hard at maintaining the site which is to a very high standard I must add. The washing / toilet facilities are immaculate. Got your own washroom / shower cubicle which is very private. The laundry and dishwashing areas are equally as impressive and immaculate. numerous fresh water points dotted around the area with waste bins, emptied every day. The chemical aste point is in a secluded area of the site which is perfect. The site office blends in perfectly with its surroundings, surrounded with flowers and trees. The office also doubles as a shop which is handy if you forget anything, which we did (Saucepans) sells all sorts of bits and pieces, from milk and bread through to ice creams and various equipment you may find yourself needing, Also gas is for sale if you were to run out unexpectedly. There is a lovely pub up the road approximately 0.5 miles, hill is a bit steep but more than manageable. The area is ideal for couples / families who want a bit of peace and quiet or for those that like walking and mountain biking. I cant honestly think of a bad word to say about the site so will definitely be returning no doubt numerous times in the future.

It was so good to be back again in my favourite site, after health hiccups earlier in the year.

It was so good to be back again in my favourite site, after health hiccups earlier in the year. Barry and Wendy are always so helpful and friendly, and the site is always spotless. They have done wonders with the flowers on site, and it really was a blaze of colour. We know the area well, and got chatting to several of the locals. They all had very positive things to say about the staff and site, and that must be a credit to C & CC. Can't wait to come back again, hopefully later this year if health allows. Great site, highly recommended.

As we were watching hot coal on our BBQ, a member of staff approached us rudely and told us off, assuming we had done a log fire (which we had not). He treated us - 6 professional adults - badly. This was inappropriate and spoiled our time at the campsite, which was otherwise excellent. When this person realised we had done nothing wrong, he did not say sorry and just left grumbling. This person should learn to treat its customers professionally.

“Yet another fabulous weeks holiday at this superb site. Friendly welcome from the wardens who maintain the site to a remarkable standard. The scenery is absolutely stunning and there are some fabulous walks along the river Towy in both directions as well as some more strenuous ones. Can highly recommend this site for anybody who appreciates nature and beautiful scenery. We will definitely be returning.”
