    Top site for fishing

St Neots campsite is on the banks of the Great Ouse, a wildlife haven & close to town.

Walkers, cyclists and fishermen will love our St Neots Club campsite. Within striking distance of the south Cambridgeshire market town of the same name, our St Neots campsite enjoys a waterside position on the banks of the River Ouse.

Our charming campsite is ideally situated for visiting the many attractions and walking and cycling countryside of the south Cambridge area. It has 180 pitches. Bag yourself a riverside pitch and sit back and watch the boats sail by. Fishing is available here from 16 June until the site closes for the season.

Although the site enjoys a quiet location, all the amenities you need are on the doorstep. You are within strolling distance of a lovely pub and a lovely riverside walk brings you into St Neots which offers a number of independent shops as well as national retailers and a varied choice of eating places.

During the summer St Neots hosts a number of festivals including a medieval festival and a regatta.

The town also has a number of parks including the Common, Priory Park and Riverside Park. Set amongst huge weeping willow trees, there are lakes for boating and fishing, picnic areas, children's play areas, and many marked cycle and footpaths.

For nature lovers Paxton Pits Nature Reserve at Little Paxton, comprises 75 hectares of gravel pits, meadows, scrub and woodland next to the River Great Ouse. There is a wealth of wildlife and a network of marked paths to enjoy.

The university city of Cambridge is around ten miles from the campsite and has many cultural attractions and shopping opportunities.

Worth Noting

Tow-cars must remain on site overnight (due to possibility of flooding). Please note that canoe/dinghy or any small boat launching on the Great Ouse must be registered before arrival with the Environment Agency Recreational Waterway (Registration) 1979. As the entrance/exit road to this site is very narrow with no passing places, please ensure that you do not arrive before 1pm.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

There is a farmers' market in St Neots on the second and fourth Saturday of the month.

The camp managers are very friendly, and ready and willing to offer advise when we needed it.

The camp managers are very friendly, and ready and willing to offer advise when we needed it. We were unsure about exactly where to pitch our tent so they helped us pin down the ground sheet in the correct spot. The campsite is set in large green areas, and there is a plentiful supply of cycle and walking routes available. The site is just a short walk from St Neots town centre with a plentiful supply of shops, pubs and restaurants for most tastes and needs. We ourselves would take one route for exercise and another to a pub, for lunch and a pint, of which there is plenty of choice. The walks are in pleasant surroundings and we walked miles, most of these are cycle routes as well. Cambridge is just a short bus trip away if you want avoid the horrors of finding a parking space. I have been to this site a number of times and have enjoyed it on each occasion and do something different each time I go.

Had a lovely quite pitch considering main season.

Had a lovely quite pitch considering main season. Shower facilities require upgrade as no adjustment with old shower heads. Showers work but very outdated. Cycling around shower block not allowed but this did happen as I stepped out of the doorway only for a young person to go passed me. A staff member did see this but possibly said nothing, my concern is if a small child or person not very agile could have been hit by this bike. Easy to walk from the site to the town where there are a variety of places to eat, drink, and shop. Lovely to be by the riverside for pub meal or picnic on the open green spaces with lots of children's play areas. This is a very nice site to visit and would return and recommend to friends.
