Explore Scotland's Border country from your pitch.
The wide open space and stunning scenery make the Scottish borders a walker’s paradise. If you’re planning to visit our Lauder Club campsite be sure to bring your walking boots. The 212 mile Southern Upland Way passes south of the campsite, there’s the lure of the Lammermuir Hills and further afield Arthur’s Seat - an ancient hill fort in Holyrood Park - offers fabulous views of Edinburgh. There are numerous trails direct from site too.
The rural setting of our Lauder campsite means you can be sure of a relaxing break during your stay in border country. The site is well kept and has 60 mainly level pitches served by a good range of modern facilities. A burn runs alongside the site, providing a habitat for local wildlife and birds.
Four miles from the campsite the town of Lauder offers a mix of history, scenery and sightseeing. Thirlestane Castle, one of the seven great houses of Scotland, is here. Its stunning parklands overlook the Lammermuir Hills and the Southern Upland Way passes through the grounds. Visitors can enjoy a woodland walk, small formal garden and picnic area near the castle.
A 40 minute drive north from Lauder will find you in Edinburgh (you could also catch a bus from outside the campsite to the capital or Jedburgh). The medieval buildings of the Royal Mile and the magnificent castle are among its attractions.
The ground is hard, so steel pegs will be required. Four holiday chalets to let, to book call 024 7647 5087.

Lovely site. Peaceful & relaxing. the stream was brilliant about twenty foot from our tent which the dogs loved there daily paddle in
Site offer daily deliveries of papers, bread and other provisions. Already have basics on site.
Only grumble would be that there is no where to dispose of cigs ie cig bins near the ammenties block.

The site was clean, tidy and pleasant, its has little river backed by pretty hills covered in flowers, with birds of prey overhead to give it some of natures blessings. It was let down by the slightly noisy road and the caretakers. After a very long drive from the south, the reception was a bit blunt and unwelcoming. Later in the weekend, I watched as a guy from Holland wanted service in the shop, asking politely (as did I), the site managers were busy smoking outside and would rather have finished before coming into serve the very polite man and myself (making some poor excuses), also there is a lack of products in the shop, when I asked if they had bacon, they said they don't store fresh food...

The site was very well maintained and the facilities block cleaned twice daily.
The pub just outside the site does great food, and well kept beers.
A Co-op can be found just 4 miles away in Lauder and you will be able to get just about anything you need from here.
Lovely views and a fantastic brook runs through the bottom of the site
Only 20 miles to the Edinburgh Park and Ride, where 7.50 will buy a family day ticket for the buses. I would advise getting the Buses app for your phone though to help you locate bus stops.
This is truly a fantastic site, run by 2 very pleasant and helpful wardens, I would strongly advise a visit.

Really enjoyed our stay even though not far from home.
Site was very quiet. There is not a lot of attractions around other than very enjoyable country side, good for walking and cycling.
I think the site would benefit from year round age concession as I am sure a lot of older members had headed elsewhere for medium/long term stays.

“We have just returned from a wonderful stay in one of the four timber chalets at Lauder and have to say the stay totally surpassed our expectations! The chalet was incredible value (and we stayed as non-members in high season) - very spacious yet cosy, spotless and had absolutely everything you'd need for a break away. We were even allowed to have our dog stay with us in the chalet which was great.
. The site was very peaceful and perfect for the quiet retreat we were looking for. Easily accessible, a lovely pub right on the doorstep and incredible walking trails right from the site - all in all it's a real gem, we can't wait to return!”
