Explore Scotland's Border country from your pitch.
The wide open space and stunning scenery make the Scottish borders a walker’s paradise. If you’re planning to visit our Lauder Club campsite be sure to bring your walking boots. The 212 mile Southern Upland Way passes south of the campsite, there’s the lure of the Lammermuir Hills and further afield Arthur’s Seat - an ancient hill fort in Holyrood Park - offers fabulous views of Edinburgh. There are numerous trails direct from site too.
The rural setting of our Lauder campsite means you can be sure of a relaxing break during your stay in border country. The site is well kept and has 60 mainly level pitches served by a good range of modern facilities. A burn runs alongside the site, providing a habitat for local wildlife and birds.
Four miles from the campsite the town of Lauder offers a mix of history, scenery and sightseeing. Thirlestane Castle, one of the seven great houses of Scotland, is here. Its stunning parklands overlook the Lammermuir Hills and the Southern Upland Way passes through the grounds. Visitors can enjoy a woodland walk, small formal garden and picnic area near the castle.
A 40 minute drive north from Lauder will find you in Edinburgh (you could also catch a bus from outside the campsite to the capital or Jedburgh). The medieval buildings of the Royal Mile and the magnificent castle are among its attractions.
The ground is hard, so steel pegs will be required. Four holiday chalets to let, to book call 024 7647 5087.

A beautiful site in a lovely location. The wardens work very hard to look after their site and extend a kind and helpful welcome to all.

From the friendly welcome to our leaving every thing was wonderful, it was peaceful & a good place to travel to other places of interest. The toilets etc. are very clean & looked after really well. If there is any complaint it has nothing to do with the site, its lack of food outlets, the takeaway in Lauder is good but that's it & I'm afraid we found the Lodge food fairly poor for the price, although the staff were lovely.

We hadn't been for a few years and wondered what it would be like when we returned. We are a family of 3 and it couldn't have been more perfect, just as we remembered - showers are hot and free and extremely clean as is the whole toilet block. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly above and beyond what you would normally expect- allowing us to stay a little extra on the day we were leaving to enable our tent to dry out after a foggy start. The stream is perfect for the kids to play and there is a large area for them to play in the middle of the field. There are some lovely walks nearby but take care if you want to download lauder walks from the internet. We were chased by a herd of cows - funny afterwards but scary at the time. There is a lovely inn just at the entrance to the site and although we didn't eat there we had a sneaky drink or two after a hard days walk. Can't recommend this site highly enough

On arrival the office smells of stale tobacco. The toilet block requires a complete clean, showers have white tiles that are stained orange with dirt and the mastic edges are black with mould the showers are also very slow to drain.
This site is in an great location for visiting Edinburgh & the Scottish Borders but could do with a great deal of TLC

“We have just returned from a wonderful stay in one of the four timber chalets at Lauder and have to say the stay totally surpassed our expectations! The chalet was incredible value (and we stayed as non-members in high season) - very spacious yet cosy, spotless and had absolutely everything you'd need for a break away. We were even allowed to have our dog stay with us in the chalet which was great.
. The site was very peaceful and perfect for the quiet retreat we were looking for. Easily accessible, a lovely pub right on the doorstep and incredible walking trails right from the site - all in all it's a real gem, we can't wait to return!”
