This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

We booked this last minute as stop over coming back from Arran. The owner is lovely and very welcoming. The gardens are lovely and well tended. There is a tree swing and a trampoline (though no sides so keep an eye on the kids) The site is on a corner of two busy roads we did notice the traffic but it didn't keep us awake. The site is small and great value - good for a stop over or if you want to be at Troon which is 1.8 miles to the centre. There is BP Garage further up the road and the hotel does food though it looked a bit pricey.

Used this site for a one night stay while touring Scotland, great welcome clean and tidy site just outside of Troon, bus stop just outside of site.
The entrance to the site is very difficult. It is close to a small roundabout and there is a lot of traffic. It is more hazardous when leaving the site as there is a very restricted sight line to the left - when turning right you hope some kind motorist will let you out.
The eclectics on the sight leave a lot to be desire. They are sourced from domestic extension leads therefore caravanners will need an adaptor with a domestic 13 amp plug at one end.
At the time of our visit, there was an adjacent field being used for a Camping & Caravanning Club rally - it was signed "holiday site". There were very few vans there during our stay. I attempted to use their entrance which was much safer access and egress to the site but was warned in no short order by a very officious steward not to do this again. He certainly was not a good advert for the "Friendly Club".
I will not be using this CS again.
