Stay in the grounds of a fairytale Scottish castle on the South Ayrshire coast, with sunsets to die for.

Pitch in the grounds of the cliff top Culzean Castle Club campsite and you’ll be rewarded with stunning views across the Firth of Clyde to the islands of Arran and Ailsa Craig, and the Mull of Kintyre. Our campsite here is in an area rich with beautiful countryside and coastline, fantastic walking, stunning beaches and many interesting places to visit.

Our spacious, secure 90-pitch site welcomes all camping units and offers good facilities for campers including showers, toilets, washing up area and a children’s play area.

The National Trust for Scotland managed Castle and Country Park are a short walk away and includes five kilometres of coastline with sand dunes, caves, rock pools and sand and shingle beaches.

Fishermen can enjoy some fly fishing at Mochrum Loch close to the site. The 24 acre loch is stocked with brown, blue and rainbow trout.

Head north from thecamp site and you’ll come to the coastal town of Ayr with its many shops, bars and restaurants. Just before you reach Ayr, the Burns Heritage Park in Alloway is worth a detour.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

This is a lovely site with views over the sea. Not the cliff top location we expected.

This is a lovely site with views over the sea. Not the cliff top location we expected. Grounds and facilities are spotlessly clean and includes a laundry which is handy for people with families. The staff are very pleasant if a bit cheeky on arrival. We had a pitch with a view which was lovely. EHU is available for tents as well which I much prefer. As with all CCC sites toilets and showers are kept clean at all times. The floor in the changing area next to the shower does get very wet so I would highly recommend hanging everything on the hooks on the back of the door - even your shoes!!! The showers are push button times which is a bit of a pain but I can see why it's done. It would be nice to have a temperature control as I found them just a little too hot. I suffer from eczema so hot showers not great for me. The toilets don't flush very well. Again I think it is to conserve water. However, I did see in one cubicle there was a notice to say to hold the handle down to get rid of the waste so I think a notice in every cubicle would be useful. All in all I had a wonderful stay. I might ask for a sunny pitch next time and something slightly nearer the loos. Can't wait to go back. Well done to all the staff.

Site facilities are disabled-friendly, surfaces sloped where needed, easy to access.

Site facilities are disabled-friendly, surfaces sloped where needed, easy to access. Disabled shower/toilet in great condition, clean and access via radar key to keep the access for those who need it. Lovely location, next to the castle and grounds , and handy for local area tourism.

Excellent site but exposed to wind, Culzean Castle interesting plenty of walking opportunities anyone towing would be best to avoid A70 from the M74 narrow in places and prone to flooding. Nice quite site but under the flight path from Prestwich Airport so occasional noise to be expected. Television reception poor, take a sat dish or you will be watching Ulster TV (still a poor signal) internet and mobile phones intermittent. intermittent.
