Stay in the grounds of a fairytale Scottish castle on the South Ayrshire coast, with sunsets to die for.

p>Pitch in the grounds of the cliff top Culzean Castle Club campsite and you’ll be rewarded with stunning views across the Firth of Clyde to the islands of Arran and Ailsa Craig, and the Mull of Kintyre. Our campsite here is in an area rich with beautiful countryside and coastline, fantastic walking, stunning beaches and many interesting places to visit.

Our spacious, secure 90-pitch site welcomes all camping units and offers good facilities for campers including showers, toilets, washing up area and a children’s play area.

The National Trust for Scotland managed Castle and Country Park are a short walk away and includes five kilometres of coastline with sand dunes, caves, rock pools and sand and shingle beaches.

Fishermen can enjoy some fly fishing at Mochrum Loch close to the site. The 24 acre loch is stocked with brown, blue and rainbow trout.

Head north from thecamp site and you’ll come to the coastal town of Ayr with its many shops, bars and restaurants. Just before you reach Ayr, the Burns Heritage Park in Alloway is worth a detour.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

We arrived and were shown a selection of pitches to choose from. The staff are friendly, the views are beautiful and the walks are great. We would definitely recommend this site and will be returning ourselves. Ayr is a lovely place and the beach is great for walking the dog.

Kenny and his team are doing a great job putting the final touches to the refurbishment of this site. The shower block still smells of fresh paint! Construction noise and timber harvesting during the day rather spoilt the karma of the scenery but that will be over soon. I was surprised that given the lack of a digital TV or satellite signal the club did not take the opportunity to install a cable facility during the expensive refurbishment. A word of caution to dog owners: we found no pubs or restaurants in Ayrshire that would allow a dog indoors where food was served or sold. We where told by a restaurant owner that it was a county regulation. Also beware of Deer Ticks if you go walking in the woods. #
