Stay in the grounds of a fairytale Scottish castle on the South Ayrshire coast, with sunsets to die for.

Pitch in the grounds of the cliff top Culzean Castle Club campsite and you’ll be rewarded with stunning views across the Firth of Clyde to the islands of Arran and Ailsa Craig, and the Mull of Kintyre. Our campsite here is in an area rich with beautiful countryside and coastline, fantastic walking, stunning beaches and many interesting places to visit.

Our spacious, secure 90-pitch site welcomes all camping units and offers good facilities for campers including showers, toilets, washing up area and a children’s play area.

The National Trust for Scotland managed Castle and Country Park are a short walk away and includes five kilometres of coastline with sand dunes, caves, rock pools and sand and shingle beaches.

Fishermen can enjoy some fly fishing at Mochrum Loch close to the site. The 24 acre loch is stocked with brown, blue and rainbow trout.

Head north from thecamp site and you’ll come to the coastal town of Ayr with its many shops, bars and restaurants. Just before you reach Ayr, the Burns Heritage Park in Alloway is worth a detour.

Site is a lovely with views over the Ayrshire coast, Toilets are spotless but well out of date, The kids play area needs updating too as it is rather small for any more than a few children. The road surface is poor and the wardens have to continually fill in the potholes. Although the site has views over Arran the pitches which look over it has caravans on it which have no one at them. Surley these are premier pitches which should be available for visitors (possibly even for a small additional fee) and not kept for the members. We would love to come back but will wait until the site has been updated before we do.

excellent location and as long as the right clothes are packed there is plenty to see and do regardless of weather. I would reccomend a site overlooking the coastline to Arran, there is a variety of wild birds to be seen around the fields and forests and the pitches are spread out with a decent distance between each setup. Ideal if you have a dog as lots of varied walks to undertake. The main port of Girvan is just 20mins away with a large supermarket, with the larger shopping town of Ayr 30mins in the other direction. I would certainly visit this site again in the future as it ever fails to deliver. As always the staff are welcoming and helpful which is a mainstay of all club sites and does make a difference to the experience.

The site was easy enough to find but could have done with better signage! The location is beautiful and the views are outstanding(when its not raining). The sight its self is well maintained clean and tidy. The only draw back we found was the lack of toilet facilities at the far end of the site where we where pitched, it was a good ten minute round trip, which is no fun in the rain or the middle of the night. I personally would not go back to Ayr (no reflection on the site), it could have a lot to offer and be a thriving resort. As it is, it was under- welming to say the least as was Prestwick,Troon and Maybole.

This an excellent site with wonderful views to Arran and Culzean Castle and Country Park on the doorstep. Shops in Maybole are only a couple of miles away. The site assistant could not have been more helpful in helping us pitch our trailer tent on this sloping site. Wifi links are poor and the best reception is close to the office where there in no shade. The washing up area is very small for size of site.
