Overview

Enjoy the beauty of Scotland's west coast and islands from our campsite in a walled garden.

Our Oban Club campsite on Scotland’s west coast enjoys a beautifully secluded location hidden in a glorious Victorian walled vegetable garden. The sheltered, level campsite is next door to Sutherland’s grove, a Forestry Commission woodland criss-crossed by colour-coded walks and cycle paths. Opposite the campsite is a marina with a little beach you can walk along.

This well-maintained, 75-pitch campsite has excellent, modern facilities including a parent and child room, washing up area and a newly refurbished toilet.

There’s a sandy beach at nearby Benderloch and the wonderful family friendly Ben Lora cafe and bookshop comes highly recommended. Take the path opposite up to the summit of Beinn Lora and you'll be rewarded with fantastic views across to Mull.

Oban, known as the seafood capital of Scotland, is 13 miles to the south of the campsite. The town is renowned for the variety and quality of seafood landed in the harbour, not surprising there are numerous great seafood restaurants in and around the town centre. Oban also boasts its own malt whisky distillery and several local micro breweries.

You can take a ferry from Oban to the Western Isles, or visit Dunollie Museum and Castle and the Oban War and Peace Museum.

Further south, the island of Easdale is well worth a drive for the breathtaking views over the Firth of Lorn.

Please note that there is a height restriction at site entrance (arch) of 3.4m ( 11ft 2in).

Stayed for 3 nights on the way back down from Fort William, what a lovely place.

Stayed for 3 nights on the way back down from Fort William, what a lovely place. Staff took us to the pitches an allowed us to pick. The showers are amazing and clean as its the pot wash and laundrette. Might be 12 miles from Oban but worth the 20 minute drive to the ferry port for island visiting. Would not hesitate to return.

Great for dog walking and mountain biking next door, Oban just down the road where there is tesco and Aldi and lidl's plus all the touristy bits and catch a ferry across to mull or Lots of other islands, 30 miles up the coast is fort William and Ben Nevis where you can go to the "Nevis range" and go halfway up Aornach moor, which is next to Nevis and admire the views at the cafe or if more adventurous you can mountain bike back down on one of the 2 tracks back down, where they do a round of the world championships, if you go in winter take your skis or snowboards. About 15miles back towards Oban there is Glencoe another place fantastic for hiking and mountain biking and the ski resort also has its own mountain bike track in the summer and go up in the chairlift for a fantastic view! Also from fort William is the "Harry potter steam train and where they did the filming of the glenfinnan viaduct, you can go on this train to mallaig on the coast which has been voted one of the best railway journeys in the world! If your not bothered about going on the steam train there is a diesel locomotive that does the same trip but at quarter of the price as kids go free on this!!!

This was my second trip to this site.

This review is for Oban

This was my second trip to this site. I was disappointed to find the play area wasn't there nor was the pub resturant open and the shop was tiny. However all staff were pleasant and friendly and nothing was a problem not that we gave them any. The weather was against us and we were on plot 35 hard standing and still got flooded as the grassy areas were saturated. Nothing management could do. Toilet facilities were clean and well kept but it would have been nicer to have showers with turn taps then a button. But I guess it's to save on water. It's hasn't much around it but nice dog walks and a short drive to Oban, Fort William etc. the bus also just stops over the road and costs on £2.65 to Oban. I found it a nice site enclosed by the wall and lovely gardened areas. Safe for my little girl to play and make friends.

It was our second stay at this site. The site managers,Stephen and Carole, are very welcoming, friendly and conscientious.Nothing is too much trouble for them.Their humerous thought for the day is a nice touch! There are good dog walks in the woods near the site. A quiet, well run site, handy for Oban.
