Overview

Enjoy the beauty of Scotland's west coast and islands from our campsite in a walled garden.

Our Oban Club campsite on Scotland’s west coast enjoys a beautifully secluded location hidden in a glorious Victorian walled vegetable garden. The sheltered, level campsite is next door to Sutherland’s grove, a Forestry Commission woodland criss-crossed by colour-coded walks and cycle paths. Opposite the campsite is a marina with a little beach you can walk along.

This well-maintained, 75-pitch campsite has excellent, modern facilities including a parent and child room, washing up area and a newly refurbished toilet.

There’s a sandy beach at nearby Benderloch and the wonderful family friendly Ben Lora cafe and bookshop comes highly recommended. Take the path opposite up to the summit of Beinn Lora and you'll be rewarded with fantastic views across to Mull.

Oban, known as the seadfood capital of Scotland, is 13 miles to the south of the campsite. The town is renowned for the variety and quality of seafood landed in the harbour, not surprising there are numerous great seafood restaurants in and around the town centre. Oban also boasts its own malt whisky distillery and several local micro breweries.

You can take a ferry from Oban to the Western Isles, or visit Dunollie Museum and Castle and the Oban War and Peace Museum.

Further south, the island of Easdale is well worth a drive for the breathtaking views over the Firth of Lorn.

Please note that there is a height restriction at site entrance (arch) of 3.4m ( 11ft 2in).

Very friendly greeting on arrival. Shown to our pitch and were asked if we were happy etc., before being left to "set up". Site itself is beautiful in beautiful surroundings. Toilet block etc., is absolutely spotless. Would say the staff are the most friendly we have had on any of the C&CC sites we have stayed. Our original booking was for two nights but we were enjoying ourselves so much we stayed an extra night. Staff could not have been more helpful with our request. Surrounding area is lovely with lots of walks and of course lovely Oban is close by. Spoke to many fellow campers who return year after year and we will no doubt be joining them as we will certainly return.

Came back this year after a wonderful visit last year.

Came back this year after a wonderful visit last year. With friends this time following hour recommendation. All I can say is your site warden can influence your time here. We have been subject to elitist comments regarding our tent. Constantly asked to make changes that were never quite satisfactory. We have stayed in many camps and are very aware of the etiquette and did not think talking at a low level between ourselves was exactly raucous behaviour and had to be told to stop talking. Although we did laugh and felt flattered (none of us will see 50 again) that we had been chastised by aconsiderably older warden for not being in bed at 11pm. Definately not a friendly site as advertised. Definitely won't hurry back and im going home more stressed than when I arrived. First thing I will be doing when I get home is cancelling my membership. You should remind you wardens its called the camping and caravan club. Not just the caravan club and tent owners are not second class citizens and not to be treated like steerage.

We recently stayed on this site as part of a longer holiday in scotland. The site was beautifully kept and the facilities were kept extremely clean. It was a lovely location in what used to be a walled garden. There were forestry commission walks right next to the site which was lovely for walking our dog. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. We visited several places in the area although we were only there for a few days. There was an excellent Coffee/bookshop in Benderloch which we visited several times. The site is situated between Oban and Fort William so it is easy to visit both towns. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Cannot praise Bill and Liz enough for their help as we had booked for 3 nights but decided to stay for 8, having to cancel our booking at Luss, which we will visit another time. All the wardens were friendly and helpful with advice and information about the area. The site facilities are superb and spotlessly clean, the fresh flowers are a lovely touch. Our view is that this is the best site we have visited and is ideally placed for touring the area and walking or cycling. We had a fabulous time at this site and would highly recommend it .
