    Top site for photography

A glorious campsite location at the foot of the Scottish mountains.

Walking boots are a must for campers visiting our Glencoe Club campsite. Surrounded by National Trust for Scotland managed woodland, this is wonderful walking country. The West Highland Way passes within nine miles of the campsite and there are many other low and high-level walks. You can even bag yourself a Munro or two – there are eight within the vicinity of the site.

Whichever of the 102 pitches you choose at Glencoe, you’re guaranteed stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The facilities are excellent and include a laundry, locker room and drying shed.

The eco-friendly Glencoe National Trust for Scotland Visitor Centre is a short walk from the campsite. It has interactive displays, a shop and a café. In nearby Glencoe the Glencoe and North Lorn Folk Museum gives an interesting insight into the history of the area.

Glencoe Activities in Ballachulish offers a choice of 20 activities and tours – from golf and canyoning to rib and Segway tours.

More relaxing pursuits include a ferry ride across Loch Linnhe or embark on what’s regarded to be one of the greatest railway journey’s in the world from Fort William on the Jacobite steam train .

A lovely place to relax and watch the wildlife or the ever changing colours on the hills.

A lovely place to relax and watch the wildlife or the ever changing colours on the hills. Plenty walks/ climbs close to the site for the novice or the more experienced visitors (including sections of the famous West Highland Way). It's all there, including water sports, archery, history and even feeding the ducks on the Lochan. A thirty minute drive takes you to Fort William then on to Inverness . A plethora of eating outlets close to the site from the cafe in the Ballachulish information centre to the larger hotels. This year was our second visit to Glencoe and we still haven't managed to see everything on the to do list. looking forward to our return in 2015.

My husband and I stayed at Glencoe for one night, unfortunately the weather wasn't good so we didn't get the full impact of the stunning scenery around. The facilities at Glencoe are good. The toilet blocks were clean and warm. The laundry and wash up areas were good too. Both wardens we met were friendly and helpful. The visitors centre over the road was good too and we took full advantage of their free Wi-Fi whilst we enjoyed our cup of tea. Overall it was a good site.

I don't usually do reviews but the wardens at this site go that extra mile to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The warmest of welcomes, toilets so clean that they feel brand new and little touches around the site which raise a smile including a perfectly positioned love seat - we loved it all.
