    Site within National Park

Enjoy this peaceful Aberdeenshire campsite in the in the east of Scotland just outside the Cairngorms National Park, in an area favoured by royalty.

The Club’s Tarland by Deeside campsite lies just outside the Cairngorms National Park and shares the same stunning scenery as Balmoral Castle. The area surrounding the site is tranquil and exceptionally beautiful and rich in historic and prehistoric sites.

This beauty and tranquillity flows into our Tarland campsite. Trees line the site and are dotted throughout separating camping pitches into smaller, more intimate areas. The site also has a wooded dog walk.

The village of Tarland is a five minute walk from site and has shops, a golf course and bowling green. From here you can pick up the ten kilometre Tarland Way walking and cycle path which runs from the village to Aboyne.

Excursions from site should include Balmoral Castle and the Royal Lochnagar Distillery Visitor Centre. Braemar west of Balmoral has a castle and the Braemar Highland Heritage Centre. The town is also a popular centre for walking and mountain biking, with no less than 30 Munros within the immediate area. Scotland’s highest 18 hole golf course is here too. Visit the Glenlivet Estate which includes the Tomintoul Museum, Glenlivet Distillery and Blairfindy Castle.

Arrived here on Friday late afternoon and was greeted by a very friendly cheery welcome by the young lady in reception who told me all about the site and its facility's , pitched up on site and starting installing awning which was first time of instillation as we are new to the motor home scene after years of camping etc , turned out the awning was bigger than anticipated and was told it was over our pitch by same lady but said it would be fine , on the next day we had run low on water (onboard water tank ) so looked for tap to re fell nearest only tap i could find was 30 metres away so we decided to attach hose which i use for filling up with to said tap and proceeded to fill up as done on many other sites , for my friend to be told by older women with glasses ??? that this is not an ideal situation and i should use a watering can ??? couldn't see why there is an issue with the hose simpler quicker easier and no contamination, this lady seems to be running this site like the army it is a pity as apart from that it is a good site just a suggestion how about installing more water taps around site

We were allocated agrass standing from which we had to be towed off because the drainage in the site is so poor. The Fields on the left resemble a swamp. The toilet block took me back to the 1960's with white porcelain showers that you had to step down into. All in all a dreadful experience. This site should either be modernised or closed.

Situated outside a small village this is a lovely site and very quiet. The pubs nearby are worth a visit for food. Site assistants, Mike and Trudie, were particularly friendly and very helpful when I had a mechanical problem. They also gave me the route for walks in a nearby woods and to a stone circle, all ideal for dogs walks.
