(2016-17 Winter Season) - Stewarded by Ray and Noreen Stephens, with their assistants stewarding the last three weeks of the rally. Approx 97 rally pitches (subject to demand), allocated by Rally Stewards in consultation with site reception (except dog pitches, about 150-200m from the Rally Stewards’ pitch and the wash block, allocated by site reception). Pitches about 80m² with 10A electricity, all gravel, separated with flowering shrubs; maximum unit length 8.5m. Water points throughout site, drainage facilities at wash block. Typical rally activities (subject to demand) may include quizzes, games nights, boules, rally dinners on or off site, fish and chips nights, cheese and wine lunches, tea dances, coach excursions to places of local interest, walks and cycle rides, flat green bowling at a local club with brunch, whist and beetle drives, plus evening events in the function room.
A much loved, long-standing favourite, this rally appeals to members looking for relaxation, peace and quiet, yet with a good rally programme both on and off site. The rally has frequent evening access to the site function room which becomes a real focus point of the rally. Reception and supermarket 200m away from main rally area (nearer to dog pitches). Rally access to an excellent heated function room (hand rails aid access to entrance and to downstairs toilets) for rally activities, available to the rally on most weekdays and Saturdays (exclusive use of the room cannot be guaranteed).
After Playa Tropicana, why not move on to the Costa Verde in northern Spain for the popular rally at Playa Joyel in May and June. Green Spain is a great area and a great contrast to the Spanish Mediterranean coast – for details see our Summer Camping brochure or www.myccc.co.uk/playajoyel.
Rally Date: 04 01 2017 - 14 05 2017
We recommend that you book your entire rally stay as early as possible.
An attractive and high quality site, in a tranquil part of this beautiful coastline
Rally Dates 4 Jan - 14 May 2017 (Members only)
The recently renovated wash blocks at Playa Tropicana have added to its reputation as a top quality site with high quality facilities, while its location opposite a long sandy beach on a tranquil part of the coastline adds to its appeal. The site lives up to its name with exotic
plants, palm trees and classical statues lining the roads, while a heated covered pool and Jacuzzi complete the site’s excellent facilities. The friendly reception staff are on hand to help you with ideas for local visits, walking and cycle routes and local festivals. The adjacent restaurant is popular with campers and offers good value set meals featuring local specialities at reasonable prices.
Alcossebre is a small, attractive modern resort with restaurants and bars, very sleepy in the winter months. Many campers use their own vehicles to visit Alcossebre, while others enjoy walking, cycling or jogging along the coast road. There are many places of interest reachable with your own transport, and rewarding outings include a drive into the nearby Sierra de Irta and to El Pinar mountain, to enjoy spectacular sea views. You can also visit ancient villages such as Peñíscola, with its 14th century
fortress, and Villafamés, which houses a museum of modern art.

Wi-Fi (on pitches, charge)
The site is very well kept and a very nice
site with an interesting array of semi
naked female statues lining the streets
which can brighten the day of most of the
male campers at least!
However, I cannot recommend this site to
motorhome visitors unless they have another
mode of mechanical transport available.
The local town is a 2 mile walk away along
the coast which is fine, but after that the
nearest shopping size towns to visit are
around 25 miles away.
The beach has some shingle but plenty of
sand and the police seem to tolerate dogs
on the beach in the winter but please, please
clear up after your dog.
All in all, a good site but not for motorhomes.
- Towing: Easy
- Location: Coastal
- Suitable For: Peaceful break
Grey waste disposal needs sorting at this lovely site. The only place is where you empty the chemical waste and it is up a high step then you have to get it up onto a raised pedestal basin (like a toilet), one chap fell up step and cut his head I nearly had hernia. There should be a ramp really. Overall we had a lovely stay at this great site, all other facilities are of a high standard.
- Towing: Difficult
- Location: Coastal
- Suitable For: Older couples,Groups,Peaceful break
