(2015-16 Winter Season) 1 Nov-1 Apr The Rally Stewards will be Peter and Tina Edwards. This rally is already extremely popular, and only likely to become more so with the excellent rally prices and value for money in the area, so members should book the maximum stay they require as soon as possible. Ralliers have access to a function room two or three times a week (exclusive use of the room cannot be guaranteed). Typical rally activities (subject to demand) may include boules competitions, local walks, cycle rides, quiz nights, party nights, barbecue and cheese and wine afternoons, line dancing, flat green bowls, dinner dances, on-site street parties, meals out, show nights, whist, golf trips and coach excursions to local places of interest. Members have also much enjoyed the many carnivals in and around Benidorm that start in November and occur throughout the winter. This is a large rally occupying much of a medium-sized site. Approx 165 rally pitches, mainly in the central area, but may be spread throughout the site among other campers (including increasing numbers of large US-style RVs and fifth wheelers) and the site's own rental accommodation, including large chalets. Pitches are mainly gravel, all have 16A hook-up, water and drainage, analogue TV connection. Pitches are allocated on arrival by site reception.
Almafra is in a much sought after location and the rally has proved very popular indeed. This is a great opportunity to rally on a good quality site in a quiet location, yet with all that busy Benidorm and this section of the Costa Blanca has to offer, plus more traditional Spanish towns and villages even closer to hand. Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations take place either on site or locally, both bookable on site.
Rally Date: 01 11 2015 - 01 04 2016
We recommend that you book your entire rally stay as early as possible.
In a quiet location on the edge of Benidorm, with views of the mountains

Almafra is close enough to both Benidorm, with all the fabulous beaches and attractions of this famous resort, and some traditional Spanish towns alike. The management is keen to support the rally, and has continually improved an already good quality site, with a wide range of high quality facilities. The open air swimming pool is closed in winter, but the indoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi are half price to Club members, who also enjoy special rates for the superbly equipped gym. There is a friendly bar where snacks are served, while a full service restaurant also functions midday and evening. Just a five minute walk from the campsite entrance are the tram station and bus stops from where you can go directly into Benidorm, Altea or Alicante, or even get a connection to València. Benidorm is just comfortably at arm's length, while the traditional resorts and towns of Altea, Albir and Alfaz del Pi are just beyond the doorstep.

Very nice friendly helpfull staff with very good English. We have stayed here three times and find other campers and resident British people very friendly. We liked the bar and the entertainment.
Easy access from main roads when towing a caravan. The road to the campsite has been closed off the N332 so go to the next roundabout, sign Al Faz, and turn left at new roundabout, then left at next new roundabout. Almafra is on the right.
The site is easy to drive around when towing and has large flat pitches all with 16 amp electric, water and drainage. The on site shop now open 8am-9pm, 9-3 Sunday. It still sells frozen UK bread and bacon. Baguettes are available here and in the bar.
Toilets are modern and were ok until the Spanish came at Easter. Should be cleaned more regularly at busy periods. Showers were good with easy 10 second push buttons. Wired TV is now BBC1, ITV, 5 and E4.
Wifi is free in the bar but bad around the site if you pay. If you are staying a few weeks reception can get 'Cloud' to put a mast at your pitch and modem in your caravan. 90euro deposit you get back when you return them to reception. I then got good reception for skype and I used my iPad to get free freeview TV.
I found the local Al Faz service station the cheapest for diesel and it has an auto car wash.
I visited 6 other campsites around Benidorm and personally would only use Almafra. Some dislikes for me at the other campsites were, shanty town seasonals, small pitches, very sloping pitches, long walks for toilets, long uphill walks for water and drainage, tight corners when towing, long walks to bus stops. The buses are one price for one or 40 stops, 1. 50 euros or 1. 30 with a 20 euro card purchased on the bus. No. 10 bus runs every that passes the site goes form Benidorm to Altea. It runs every 15 minutes.
The bus stop has moved because of the road closure. It is now about 400 metres from reception.

we had a great time, and we're glad to be able to use the assistant stewards knowledge of the local area. That they are familiar with, being Spanish residents themselves.
The only criticism we would have is that there is no dedicated disabled pitches.
The good thing about this site is being able to visit
Lots of places using local transport, that is right outside the gate, this included train and bus.
