A modern, well-equipped site
La Bahamas Beach is very well situated on one of the most popular stretches of the Vendée coastline, just to the south of St. Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. Road noise can be heard on some pitches. There are many static units on site, but touring pitches are still reasonably sized for the coastal location. A footpath direct from the site takes about 15 minutes to the beach while another path goes to St. Gilles itself. There’s a classic French holiday atmosphere on site, with English spoken at reception. Nearby St. Gilles-Croix-de-Vie is very popular for its shops and markets, including a high season evening market.
Run by Ludovic Dinaud for the Chadotel sites chain, sister site to La Trévillière, La Bolée d'Air and Domaine d'Oléron. English spoken.
Coastal setting, adjacent to sand dunes and the estuary of the River Vie, ideal for beach and cycle route. Vendée coast cycle route adjacent, beach 1100 yards, St. Gilles-Croix-de-Vie one and a half miles, Les Sables-d’Olonne 18 miles, Puy du Fou 62 miles.
Open and part-shaded pitches; all with electricity (10A).

We stayed here with our daughter and grandchildren and found the location to be perfect.A pleasant 15mins walk to a lovely beach.Adjacent to very good cycle path which runs all the way down the coast, great for popping in to St.Gilles.Close to many supermarkets including huge Leclerc. On site facilities were very good with modern and clean sanitary blocks, the block we used had the largest shower cubicles I have ever seen, many families showered "en masse" !! Showers were excellent with plenty of controllable hot water at any time of the day,but some queues at busy times. On site shop was better than most with all the usual emergency stuff as well as good choice of foods and beach goods.Bread and croissants were excellent and the snack bar/takeaway was very good.
Pitches were larger than most seaside sites with plenty of grass and hedges to sides, part shade and open.Play park and mini golf were very good and much used.Pool was adequate with plenty of sunbeds,we were disappointed it remained covered, even on hot sunny days?
The unisex toilet blocks were not popular with my ladies and it was odd, given that they are clearly quite new, that they did not contain hand washing facilities? This added to my water carrying tasks as they preferred to use the caravan facilities!
On the whole however we enjoyed our stay and the beach location and value for money make it an excellent choice for families, when the sun shines you will be hard pressed to find a better location!
Local town of St.Gilles had good choice of shopping and restaurants.Very close to other resorts and only an hour from Puy de Fou.
We would definitely stay here again!!
