Overview

Friendly and relaxing with large areas of open natural space near the pools, great for cycling and chateaux visits

A very friendly, family-run site, excellent for visiting the many châteaux and villages of the area. Apart from the most welcoming of owners, Les Saules’ biggest advantages are its access to a vast network of cycle paths linking up some of the region’s greatest châteaux (with many entry price discounts available direct from the campsite), a great pool area, and its status as a classified bird sanctuary, with 58 bird species on site.

Run by Laurent and Isabelle Cherrier, English spoken. Member of Sites et Paysages chain.

This is an ideal campsite for visiting Chateau's in the area.

This review is for Les Saules

This is an ideal campsite for visiting Chateau's in the area.Arrived after a prolonged wet period that effected all of France and a couple of pitches taken out of service, but we still managed to get a very good pitch large enough for car,van and awning.Very amiable and hard working owner kept the site ticking over nicely .Site very well used by tourers and at times seemed fully booked even for June. The swimming pool gets full sun and even though not large a indoor and outdoor pool and toddlers splash pool. There was no evening entertainment whilst we were here but has bar and snack bar.Restaurant did not open until July.Site is quiet well wooded but our pitch did get midday sun.Worth noting the when leaving Cheverney on the D102 the site entrance is not signposted until you see the entrance. Also take bikes as there are cycle routes plenty.

The reception staff were excellent & very welcoming.

This review is for Les Saules

The reception staff were excellent & very welcoming. The facilities were also very good, booking attractions from the site. Some excellent Chateaus near by and the zoo. A little disappointed that you didn't have your privacy as no dividing hedges, very open plan. During our visit the washrooms unfortunately were not kept clean & there was never any basic hand wash gel & the temperature of the showers were cool/ warm. Not sure if these are communal, but were whilst we were here.

Good sized even pitches in semi shade. All the facilities required for a weeks stay.

This review is for Les Saules

Good sized even pitches in semi shade. All the facilities required for a weeks stay. Nice restaurant with medium sized menu and takeaway - both of which we made use of. We rented a car for a couple of days. The reception staff organised a good deal for us and the car was delivered and picked up from the site, without any issues. Fresh bread every day. Clean wash block with hot water, soap and shared toilet roll dispenser by the door. Large supermarket near by. Lots of sights to see. Definitely recommend.

We visited Camping Les Saules for our first French touring caravan holiday this August (2013), and had the best time ever!!! On arrival at the site, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and with our pigeon french, they were more than accomodating and all of them spoke very good english. The pitch was lovely, nice and shaded but not so much that we couldnt enjoy the beautiful french sunshine everyday! The site itself was fabulous, the kids loved the pool, the mini golf and the play park. The toilet, shower and dishwashing facilities were all great and there was a little laundry on site. The bar and restaurant were absolutely gorgeous and the wi-fi area proved very useful at times. The staff were fantastic for the whole stay and we couldnt recommend this site more, absolutely loved it and will be visiting again next year, thanks for a wonderful stay! xxx
