The Haut Barr about two and half miles away is a good walk if you like walking, my dog and I walked the road way up to it well worth it for the views and also a very nice restaurant but on Mondays and Thursdays it is closed on on a Monday. But if you want you can walk up through the forest footpaths marked, we walked back that way, paths can be a stony where rain as washed away soil.

The town of Saverne is at he bottom of hill but if you do not mind walking it is easy to get to.On leaving the site it is signed no right turn with motorhome or if towing.I had my labrador dog with me and on my own it was virtually impossible to go in any shops.
