The Bodmin area of Cornwall has everything a family needs for the perfect holiday. - Mrs C Evans

The town of Bodmin is under a mile from Site, with its shops and plenty of good places to eat out.

The Hidden Valley Discovery Park is a fun day out for families, with Challenges to complete and a Light Railway in the grounds.

Children will love Dobwalls Adventure Park with its trains, indoor and outdoor play areas, wildlife art gallery and woodland walks.

The National Trust property, Lanhydrock House, is 15 minutes from Site. The 19th century house is surrounded by glorious grounds.

The Bodmin and Wenford Railway operates six and a half miles of track and steam locomotives through the lovely Cornish scenery.

Polperro is a pretty fishing village just down the coast. It is also known for its smuggling past.

Rick Stein fish and chip restaurant is one of Padstow’s attractions. A ferry crosses the Camel Estuary to Rock and Polzeath.

The ever-popular Eden Project is half an hour away. Visit on a summer evening for cheaper tickets and smaller crowds.

Hire bikes from Wadebridge to join the Camel Trail – one of the UK’s most popular cycle tracks, running from Padstow to Poleys Bridge – or join at the Old Jail, a mile from the Club Site.

A large supermarket is a ten-minute walk from the Site.

Worth Noting

Some pitches are slightly sloping and chocks are required. There are no facilities for wheelchairs in toilets or showers.

Eat Local

The Callywith serves good meals, as do the Masons in Bodmin town and the Borough Arms at Dunmere Bodmin. The Camel Valley Vineyard sells locally produced English wine and fresh Cornish poultry.
