We love the south coast... and what's not to love? Good rail links, the South Downs, super seaside towns, warm weather!
Our stay at Seaford, East Sussex, last September resulted in Ted and me accompanying the maid and chauffeur free of charge on buses and trains to Brighton, Lewes and Eastbourne.
The latter has been a source of much amusement in our household, with the maid frequently regaling the chauffeur with lines from a TV show I know nothing of called 'Fawlty Towers'. In this comedy show about a Torquay guest house, one visitor says: "This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in!" to which another guest, an elderly major, retorts: "I won't have that.... there's a place in Eastbourne!"
