Blanket ban on a new ‘van!

Ted with Milly the caravanApparently they have been on the verge of buying one a 2006 Bailey Burgundy Series 5, to be exact onmore than one occasion. But each time they have wavered before committing to buy, and I think it’s because they don’t want it sullied by dirty dog paws!

So I think we’ll be having a few outings in Milly early next year to see whether she is big enough to take two people and two dogs. Kizzy, the annoying yet playful Westie, hasn’t been on holiday yet, although she has enjoyed a couple of day trips to the beach.

Since we lost our beloved Molly, my fellow border terrier, in April, a lot has happened and holiday time has been shortlived. But we’ll be looking forward over the winter to places where we can take Milly a small Avondale Dart plus a smashing awning that the chauffeur managed to snap up for £50, and which still has not been put up on site.

Westies on the east coast!

We’ve not had a proper holiday this season, and it’s all down to a pesky Westie.

But I’m hoping for an Indian summer so that my new little pal and I can explore some new beaches as the season draws to a close and many towns allow dogs to descend on the dunes.

I was a little sad and lonely after we lost my pal Molly in the spring, and had no one to chase and play with.

King of the ‘castle'!

I’d like to wholeheartedly endorse this location, Ashby Park, which proudly displays the fact that it is a Club ‘Listed’ Site at its welcoming reception.

There’s a picture here of aptly named Tiny and me at playtime (right), and I also met a lovely lass called Lil, whose human friends spend many weeks of the year in their holiday home on the site. That said, this site is so extensive that ‘statics’ and tourers can happily coexist without anyone feeling hemmed in.

Likewise with fishermen and bird watchers there are several fantastic, peaceful lakes in which lurk fish of incredible proportions. I very much enjoyed an early morning meander with the maid around these lakes before she went to work.
