Food Glorious Food!

Our new Eat Local Guide

Food has been a pretty big focus for the team here at HQ in recent months. I’m not talking about what we are scoffing for lunch but the Club’s Eat Local campaign which we are about to re-launch at the Spring Caravan & Camping Show at the NEC Birmingham next week.

With the help of partners Calor and Outwell, we’ve been working on a range of videos and new web pages as well as a guidebook aimed at inspiring campers to get behind the campaign and to get talking about food.

Written by Ali Ray, our magazines Eat Local columnist, the guide features a handful of our Club Sites and Ali’s suggestions of her top food spots nearby. I hope you enjoy it and feel inspired to offer your suggestions...

From his fresh-faced days in the Scouts building campfires and digging holes in the ground (we’ll leave the rest to your imagination!), Jon has always had an infectious enthusiasm for the outdoors and loves nothing more than waking up on a campsite to the dawn chorus. When not pitching his tent, Jon’s hobbies include football, cricket and golf.

Who next?!

Caravanning - a way of life

Some people are wholly unaware of the months of planning that go into exhibiting at some of our industry's biggest consumer shows.

From location to stand design and build to staff training, our events team don't have time to thumb twiddle! And that's certainly been the case in the lead up to this week's Caravan & Motorhome Show in Manchester.

That's why, despite the arctic-like conditions at the moment and our wettest summer (if you can call it that!) on record for 100 years, it's been heartening to have welcomed a steady stream of both members and non-members to our Club Stand here at Event City. To have happy campers, makes all of our efforts worthwhile!
