Have your say on your caravan or motorhome, and help other Club members buy better

If you own a motorhome, it’s likely to be the most expensive thing you’ll ever buy, after your house. While the cost of entry to the joys of caravanning is generally a little lower, choosing the right tourer isn’t a decision to be taken lightly, and not one you want to get wrong: no one wants to find that a year or two down the line their pride and joy simply hasn’t lived up to expectations for the money they’ve paid.

There are plenty of awards ceremonies for new caravans and motorhomes, judged by expert journalists and enthusiasts, and they all have their merits.

But only the Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome annual Owner Satisfaction Surveys gather the feedback from thousands of caravan and motorhome owners – folk who’ve spent their own, hard-earned cash on their units, and used them in fair weather and foul – year in, year out. And what’s more, uniquely the surveys report on both new and used units, and on their supplying dealers.

This year, the Club partnered with Haymarket – the publishers of Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome magazines – to support the surveys. With the Club now enjoying its highest ever membership, representing almost 600,000 campers, caravanners and motorhomers, the two new surveys are the perfect addition to the Tent Owner Satisfaction survey that we launched in summer 2015.

Members who’ve bought their caravan or motorhome new or used since 1 January 2013 are invited to share their experiences in our online surveys, which are sponsored by Club Care Insurance, before midnight on 16 October 2016.

Whether you spent £1,000 or £100,000, we want to know how satisfied you are with your purchase, and whether it lived up to your expectations.

The in-depth findings will be announced at an awards ceremony in January, and the full results published on the Club website, and in Camping & Caravanning magazine.

The reports celebrate the caravan and motorhome brands that guarantee the most satisfaction for the price paid, and also those supplying dealers that go the extra mile.

We’re confident they’ll make essential reading for any Club members considering buying their caravan or motorhome. And over the years, we reckon the reports will become a comprehensive reference library, and the first place to come for anyone researching their next unit.

Also, by highlighting areas for improvement, we aim to help manufacturers improve the overall quality and reliability of tents, caravans and motorhomes on sale today.

What’s more, the information we harvest about caravan and motorhome supplying dealers will help us build and refine our Club Preferred Dealer network. This is a scheme we launched in February 2016, in which we selected and appointed key dealers around Britain to our new network. Each Club Preferred Dealer has a strong reputation, and guarantees to offer Club members relevant and exclusive discounts and deals. They are appointed on a year-by-year basis, and you’ll recognised them by the banners, pavement signs, windows stickers and Club literature they display.

The findings relating to dealers in the caravan and motorhome Owner Satisfaction Surveys will help ensure we’re working with the right dealers to the benefit of Club members. You can find out more about the Club Preferred Dealer scheme here.
